Scrapping Cents

Today I have a cool web resource to share with you. This one I found...and cannot figure out how I ever lived without it!! Now, if you are like me, you bounce around from blog to blog and gallery to gallery. Great way to gather ideas and inspiration, right? And, each gallery has a my favorites area, so when I am stuck, I pick a gallery and hit my favorites. Except the one I am looking for is not in that gallery...off to the second gallery. After a while, this can get frustrating. What if there were a way to put all your favorites, from every source on the web, in ONE gallery? Too cool, right?! Introducing Evernote. This sucker is awesome!! You can set up folders (I have folders for layouts, cards, altered art, organization ideas, etc) and tags (black and white photos, single photo, multi photos, well embellished, etc). So organizing and sorting is a snap. And, because it is web based, you can access it from any computer...surf at work, recall them at home! How cool is that?!! And, did I mention it is free---wouldn't be saving your Scrapping Cents if it weren't!

Scrapping Cents

Saw this idea from ChiekoY and loved it!! Think of all the things you could use this for. As is, she uses it for stickers...but you could also store chipboard, rub ons, and so much more in these. Left taller, these boxes are perfect for storing pp- I know, I have some. Think about getting smaller boxes and stacking them on there sides (3 across x 3 up) to create units for smaller embellishments....oh, the possibilities!! They are so easy and fun to alter, too! Have fun!

Scrapping Cents Sightings:

BL: Fiskars is showing up in some BL's across the country- I have seen easy press stamp kits- complete with 4 stamp sets per kit for $20. Also some border punches from last season- $10.

Scrapping Cents

Sorry, I'm a little late with this one...but with the magazine publishing this weekend, it was a bit hectic. Totally worth it, though!! This magazine is incredible--- the card section alone has 6 complete articles--- and there are 4 articles in the altered art/mini album sections! We have several product reviews, tips and tricks everywhere...just more content then you can imagine!! I swear, I get more excited about this magazine every month, but with the awesome talent on staff- and the incredible reader submissions- it just keeps getting better and better!!

Anyway- your Scrapping Cents this week deals with using your scanner/printer to save money. I have a few ideas on how to get more bang for your buck... Use your scanner to scan your patterned paper. Papers with bold graphic designs, like flowers and butterflies are great for cutting out and adding the pieces to layouts....but if you scan and print, you can cut out the scan and save the paper. Or, you might choose to use the scanned image with a pop dot to add dimension.
You can also use your scanner to scan in paper and resize in your graphics program...now you can make your own journaling spots. Scan your ribbon, print and cut the paper for a flatter 3-d look...would work really well for cards. Scan in decorative brads/buttons, cut and use in place of the real thing on cards, and save some extra postage, too.

ETA: Maggie left a comment and reminded me of copyright laws. I am so sorry- I had overlooked this- I very much believe not only in copyright laws, but following all laws! I have removed the suggestion I think would break copyright...but if you have any doubts- don't! Sorry, again...just got excited about an idea.

The Newest QK release was the 8th...and they are just too cute! I am lovin' this giraffe...and if you look really closely, you will notice the photo corners have a giraffe texture. Fun!!

A New Sketch at My Sketch World

The new sketch is up at My Sketch World...and you need to go take a peek! I love what the DT put together for you this month. I'm also a little partial to this layout, lol! This is the Scenic Route line Metropolis, and I really think it is one of my favorite lines, EV-AH! How can you not love the bold, crisp colors and designs?! Anyway...this is from our recent trip to the zoo...fun, fun!

**Scrapping Cents Sighting**

We interrupt this normally scheduled blog post to bring you this fresh sighting....ok, seriously--just got back from Target, and they have new stuff in the $ section. Yippee! I love the $ Section! I scored foam alphabets- ala thickers- one in red and one in blue (nice lower case font, too); chipboard alphas- (reminded me of scenic route), and a package of multi colored gemstones. I also saw packages of chip tags and embellishments, packs of ribbons, clear and wooden stamp sets, ink pads, pens, die cut papers, and really cute fabric covered brads. Oh- and little felt flower brads. Nice selection, really. So what am I saying? You need to go to Target...come on, ya know you want to!

Catch Up!

I got out of the habit of doing these, I confess. But, I have started playing along on Sunday nights- and have been loving it. The study and the card making actually makes a wonderful devotion time...I would encourage you all to try it too!!
