Stolen Snowman

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

OK- I confess...I stole this snowman idea from Kathy over at Daring Cardmakers- right down to the cuttle'd texture- but isn't he cute? The rest of the card/interpretation is mine- and I love the way it turned out...used Basic Grey paper, my snowflake die and punch, some rhinestones, ribbon and brads...too cute! Thanks, Kathy, for a wonderful idea!

Let it Snow

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Well, not really..but isn't he cute?! This was for a challenge over at Card Studio Designs to do a card with this sketch. I glittered all the edges for a wonderful snowy look- and loved the way it turned out. I just wish it had photo'ed better. There is something about a white card- just washes out and looks so dull in photos! Ah, well...

Ribbons and Christmas

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I got a new Cuttlebug- woohoo!! This thing is too cool! The funny thing is, I got my CraftRobo so I wouldn't have to get a manual diecut machine, lol! I just didn't think about the embossing/cardmaking thing, I guess. (And, I totally love my Robo!!)

Well, this card was all about playing with my new bug- each square has an embossed Christmas image. The white square has embossed the stylized word 'Christmas'- wish it showed better. The ribbons fulflled a challenge over are Daring Cardmakers to use ribbons on a card...and I love the little charm.

Hope

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

This one was for a couple of challenges, actually... the sketch is for Mojo Monday and the masking technique is for a technique challenge at Card Studio Designs.

Anyway- had a great time with this...used a lot of gold ink- for the tree and the gold papers, lol! Love the gold brads as ornaments...anyway- what do you think?

We get to share newer challenge projects- woohoo! This one was from a couple of weeks ago, and the challenge was to use the verse in the layout. If you haven't given the FaithSisters Challengea try- you really should!

Zzzzzzzz!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
I love participating in the challenges over at Faithsisters...they really are challenging, lol! This was one of my entries for the Friendship challenge- (this was a few weeks ago, but I have promised that my designs will remain exclusive to the Faithsisters site for a month, so I can only now share this with you...)

Anyway- If you know my sister and I- you know that we love our 'boys'- and they love each other, lol! Journaling for this one reads: "A friend is always loyal, and a brother was born to help in time of need," Pro 17:17. Papers for this were from the wonderful Cloud9, and the paw brads are Karen Foster.

Circle of Friends

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

This was made for the Daring Cardmaker's Circle Challenge. The challenge was to use circles in your card- and I did with the 8 circles that comprise the butterfly. There are also circles in the paper, and in the scallop edging. The paper did not photo well- it is a light gray/blue with sepia colored accents. I then used sepia ink to distress and stamp. Thanks, and have a great Sunday!!

Snowman Card

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I just loved this card! Used the completely yummy Basic Grey Fruitcake collection, some fiber I had on hand, and my new snowflake punch, by Martha Stuart. The dangles are just the punches, sandwiching the fiber- but aren't they cute!! Oh! And, I got to play with my new snowman stamps from Printworks- too fun!!

Wisemen Still Seek Him

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Sorry for the hideous picture- I was juggling the camera in one hand, a light in the other- and fending off my kitty with sheer willpower, lol!

Made this for the Caardvarks micro challenge- the challenge was to use eyelets. I set mine to be stars in the sky, along with stamped stars, and gelly roll dots. This is a simple card, with the black and white layered a couple of times...but black and white is just so elegant on its own!

Thursdays' Thoughts

So, I went to small group on Sunday, and did my first Nooma Bible Study. It was the one called Dust- and was beyond exceptional. If you have never heard of these, they are a DVD based study, very contemporary, very meaty.

Anyway, he made a point that I have been chewing on for days now- let me share it. Tell me what you think...

So, the disciples are in the boat on the Sea of Galilee, it is the middle of the night, and they see Jesus walking on the water toward them. Peter immediately calls out: Lord, if that is you, let me come out to you. And Jesus responds: Come. A few steps are taken, and Peter starts to sink. Jesus chastises him- You of little faith... Now, I have always assumed that Peter lacked faith in Jesus. But Jesus is not sinking. Peter lacked faith in himself. And Jesus chastises him for it. Jesus knows what we are capable of doing, if only we place ourselves in His care and step out of the boat! He has faith in us- wow! Chew on that a while...then, comment, and let me know what you think.

Oh Christmas Tree

It's another challenge over at Daring Card Makers. This challenge was to feature a Christmas tree on the cover of your card...well, I think I met that! The focal tree was made using flourish stamps from the Autumn Leaves and Hot of the Press collections. I then chalked them, and left some of the chalk extra to add fullness. Used a rhinestone flower to imitate a star, and rhinestones for ornaments, and- voila! I had a great time with this one, and was pleased at the way it turned out...what do you think?

Wild Ones...

I saw this challenge over at Daring Cardmakers and had to give it a try! The challenge was to use a wild animal in your card. I chose a lion- and had fun with the felt. I also inked all the layers, and embossed clear pawprints onto the bottom layer for even more texture. This card has great texture- you just want to touch it!! The sentiment? No more LION around Inside: Get Well Soon

Welcome, and Yeah!

Well, I made my first Creative Team, and I decided to celebrate in the traditional scrapper method...by starting a blog!

First, a bit about myself- my name is Anne, I live in the heart of the midwest- SW Missouri. I graduated from a Bible College more years ago than I am willing to claim (seriously, forget about it!, lol!) with a degree in Education. I have been blessed with the gift of singleness. I share my life, home, and preschool/childcare business(ministry) with my wonderful Sister. I mention all of this for a couple of reasons- first, so that you can get to know a little about me, and, second, so that you will understand when I say: As with (hopefully) everything else in my life, this blog is going to be for, about, centered on, and for the Glory of Jesus....Welcome Aboard!!

Now- back to the yeah....I made my first Creative Team- woot!! A few weeks ago FaithSisters put out the call for new design team members, and I was selected. How awesome is that?!! I still cannot believe it, I am so thrilled and humbled! I look at the ways God moves and works in my life- WOW!!

FaithSisters

Have you heard about the latest thing in Scrapbooking? We're always looking for the latest trends, right? Well, this isn't a trend- but a whole style movement: Faithbooking. Never heard of it? Neither had I a month ago! But, now I am hooked, and can't imagine going back!

Imagine putting your faith- a testimony to the way Jesus is working in your life and family- into the hands of your children, family, friends...or anyone else that looks at your scrapbook! How? Instead of just scrapping events, scrap the way God is moving in the events, or what God has taught you through the events. Instead of just scrapping what and where- start thinking about why. Faithbooking is this and more!

I would encourage all of you to head on over to Faithsisters.com. What a wonderful group of women! Such great challenges, that will help you to start and build your faithbook. Come on over- ya know you want to!

Spontaneous Joy

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
I wanted to share one of my favorite LO's of late. I don't know about you- but each new LO usually becomes my favorite, lol. Fickle, I guess. But, this was one I did for the Design Team tryouts over at Faithsisters, and it has remained on my short list of favorites. Here's the journaling:

For David, joy came in the morning...for me it was the evening.

I have wanted to photo a Balloon Festival for years...imagine my wonderful suprise, when driving down the road one evening, we happened upon one. I swear, I was giddy. Carrie and I raced home, got the camera, and raced back as fast as the speed limit would allow...all the while hoping to see just one balloon launch. I saw 3 and found out there would be a Glow that evening, and a sunrise launch the next morning.

I am convinced this was a gift- God just loves to suprise us with those. I am equally convinced, the Father enjoyed watching this child enjoy His gift. Cause, OH! I did!
