Live

Photobucket

Just a quick post and then I am off for the day...literally!! We are closed, and we are going shopping- woo-hoo!! So....For the word this week, I chose a 'motto', more or less. This is actually part of a verse, and was used in reference to Christ. I have decided to make it a life prayer, however. "I have come to do your will, oh Lord," HB 10:7 I tell you what- it's just not a bad mantra.... You guys have a great day, and a blessed holiday!!

Grace

Photobucket

OK- I am starting with this one- but only cause I got a bit behind. Was crazy busy last week with other project...but will have to wait to show you most of those, deign team- *wink*- stuff.

For this card, I DOVE into the fun new Animal Crackers line from Making Memories. You may remember, I won a package of these yummies during CHA. This is just too cute- and fun to play with! I chose the verse: "For it is by grace that you have been saved, through faith, and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast," Eph 2:8-9

Pretty in Pink

Photobucket

This week's challenge at Faith Sisters is to scraplift a layout from the gallery. I decided to scraplift Karma: http://www.faithsisters.com/photopost/showphoto.php/photo/9103/cat/fav

This is my sister's cat, and the boy just loves all things pink! His favorite toy in the world is a pink fluffy purse he stole so many times from the kids, that we gave it to him, lol!

Ladybug Thoughts

Photobucket

I was playing with flocking with this card...and had alot of fun. A great tip I read somewhere- don't use glue, use your adhesive runner. Just run it over the area you want flocked, add the flock, tap it in good, and shake off excess. It really is cleaner, and covers a lot better!!

Anyway- the paper for this is DCWV and Sizzix, Ribbon is Ribbon FX, and piecing is mine. Flocked the dots and head on the ladybug.

Trust

Photobucket

Woo-hoo- got it posted in the right week, LOL! This is for the word trust, obviously. I chose:
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight." Prov 3:5-6

Materials: Paper by Marcella, Chip is Making Memories, Stamp is Autumn Leaves.

Have a great weekend!

God Rocks!

Photobucket

The challenge this week at FaithSisters is answered prayer. This was answered prayer during the first ice storm of the year- our power was out for 6 days- 4 of which, we were open with a daycare in our house. God answered a LOT of prayers that week...but this one was cool.

Journaling: As branches and limbs fell like missiles, 7 out of 9 houses on our side of the street had the electrical boxes literally ripped from their houses...but God not only spared us- He left us the proof. This limb fell so close to our electrical line that it literally froze upright- not touching the wire...mid-air!! How cool is that?!

Materials: Papers: DCWV, Basic Grey; Chipboard: MM, bohemia; Brads, page turns: Spare Parts; Stamp: Autumn Leaves; lace/ribbon/yarn: misc; flocking: Stampendous

Clearly Flowers

Photobucket

This is a fun peek a boo card using simple printer transparency. To accomplish this look, cut the card one - one and a half inches from the top, and create a curve along the bottom. Use adhesive runner to adhere transparency between the layers. Adding flowers and ribbons will "clean up" any rough edges- and nicely highlight the look!

Paper: Bazzil Bling, Hobby Lobby, DCWV
Patterned Paper: Zoophabetz2
Flowers: Primas, Cuttlebug die cut
Pearls String: Joanns Crafts
Pearl: Crystal Sticker
Ribbon: Misc sewing section
Misc: Acetate, ink, butons

Glad Scripture Challenge

Photobucket

OK- I'm getting slower at posting these...I definitely need to work on this. The good news is- I just finished the card for this week. Now, to see if I can get it posted this week, lol!

I chose the wonderful verse: "Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad, let them say among the nations: the Lord reigns!" IChron 16:31

Photobucket

Just a quick card to share with you- I love the way this turned out. These little guys are from Stampendous, and are colored with my favorites- Prismacolor watercolor pencils. I just love the brightness and blending you get with these! Hope you all are having a great day!

**We are less then 2 weeks away from the premiere issue of Scrapbook News and Review....I am sooooooo excited!

Treasure Game

Photobucket

This week's challenge at Faithsisters was to use the verse: "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also..." Mt 6:21. I decided to take a different tack on this one- and look at it from a child's point of view. So this is a game, memory style, where the object is to find matches of what be treasure in heaven for a child- or how a child would accumulate treasure in heaven. There are 10 different matches, including: I love Jesus and Jesus loves me, God wants me to obey my parents; thank you, God, for friends; thanks you, God, for family; God likes it when I help others, God wants me to remember what He says (Bible), I learn about God in church, God wants me to do my best, etc.... (This game could also be used to play a version of Go Fish, too). Then, I altered a Target mailbox to store the card set in....

Change...

Photobucket

OK- so this one is a bit late, lol...I confess, it's been done for a few days now- but this week was just insane. Note to self *keep in mind, preschool teacher, here*- when counting down for a 100 day of school party, do make sure it is not going to fall the same week as another major party....oh, say...VALENTINE'S DAY!! 2 parties, one week= very crazy children!!

This one used MME Paper, MM lace, buttons and flowers, and Scrapworks tag. The verse: "God is not man, that he should lie, nor a son of man that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and then not fulfill?" Is 40:8

Love?

Even though the forums and gallery are closed for maintenence, there is still a challenge over at FaithSisters...this week is to highlight love. I decided to take this one in a slightly different direction, though...and I was really happy with the way it turned out! I wish it had photoed better- but that is a constant lament, sigh...
