Scripture of the Week

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this." Isaiah 9:6-7

Have you been Christmas shopping, yet? Fought the crowds, hunted the sales, made your lists and found the perfect gift for eveyone on your list? It can be a maddening, fun, exciting time. for a child, the anticipation of Christmas is opening the gifts. For an adult, the anicipation comes in watching the gifts as they are received.

Have you opened your Christmas gift, this year? God gave to us the most precious gift of all in the form of Jesus. Through Him, we have the gift of eternal life, and life abundantly in Him. Have you received and accepted that joy? God is waiting to watch your reaction as you open your gift, this holiday season!

Scripture of the Week is a regular feature of A Faith Perspective, the faithbooking blog and column hosted by Scrapbook News and Review Magazine. We invite you to join us!

Hi Anne,
God's really been answering my prayer tonight!
I've been praying that I'd find some Christian bloggers! I'm amazed by how many cooking and knitting and scrapbooking blogs there are!
I was an art and journalism major in college. I became a reporter and then an editor, using my art when teaching Sunday school.
BTW,I'm Tammy Real-McKeighan. I'm the news editor at the Fremont Tribune (NE) newspaper. I'm a Christian.
I write a faith-based column called Spiritual Spinach for our paper's Faith page.
I've recently self-published a book called "Real Spiritual Spinach - Faith for the Journey."
I know it's shameless self-promotion, but I'm trying to get the word out. Please check out my Web site at www.realspiritualspinach.com and new blog at www.realspiritualspinach.blogspot.com
Years ago, my husband, Chuck, and I led a singles group at our church. We don't have the group anymore, but we made some good friends and have some good memories.
May God bless you richly in the days ahead.
